Collecting fungi and mushrooms in Sierra de Urbasa Natural Park is common and it is not subjected to any specific regulation. The harvest season is in spring and autumn.
In spring, the highly valued Calocybe Gambosa grows on the green fields of Urbasa. Locally it is known as Perretxiko and in other areas as the San Jorge mushroom. In autumn, the Beltza fungus (Boletus aureus), the White fungus (Boletus edulis), the Amanita Caesarea and various mushrooms are harvested.
